Before this tour, I wasn't loving Nashville. After, I wanted to stay.On top of the food and drinks (all locally owned), I enjoyed the history and stories. It made me feel connected and not just a tourist.

I've done two food tours in Nashville. This one blows them out of the water.Great pace, time for music is built in, and local restaurants and cocktails that have a story. Can't recommend this tour enough.

We had THE BEST food tour for our group of Penn State students.Several students with allergies mentioned how safe they felt about the care and attention given to their individual allergies. Our guides were AMAZING.

Christine Wheatley, founder of A Little Local Flavor Nashville food tours
Hi, I'm Christine

I started this tour because I couldn't find one I'd actually take.

Most food tours stick to chains and tourist traps. I wanted something my friends would actually want to do when they came to visit me in Nashville.

So in 2018 I built A Little Local Flavor with two simple rules: every stop has to be locally owned, and every dish has to be made from scratch. Eight years later we have hosted more than 23,000 guests and I still personally pour the welcome drink at most tours.

If you book with us, you are getting the Nashville I would show my own friends.

Common Questions

FAQ

How long is the tour?
Three hours total, including six restaurant stops with about a mile of easy downtown walking between them.
How much food do I get?
Plenty. Plan to come hungry. By the end you'll have eaten a sandwich, hot chicken sliders, BBQ ribs and coleslaw, shrimp and grits, and hand-made caramels and pralines, plus a final cocktail or mocktail at the distillery. Most guests don't need dinner after.
What's the difference between the $125 and $145 tickets?
Same food at every stop. The $125 Tasting Tour comes with two non-alcoholic beverages and a mocktail at the final distillery. The $145 Drinking Tour swaps in a beer at our BBQ stop and two whiskey cocktails at the distillery. Both groups walk together; only the drinks differ.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and most common allergies are no problem with notice. Add your needs to the booking form and each restaurant will have your alternative ready.
What if it rains?
We tour rain or shine. Light rain is a non-issue and most walks between stops are under 10 minutes. In the case of severe weather we'll reach out to discuss rescheduling.
How much walking is involved?
About one mile across three hours. You're never walking for more than 10 minutes between stops. Wear comfortable shoes.
Is the tour kid-friendly?
Kids 10 and up are welcome. Anyone under 21 should book the Tasting Tour ticket. Some guests bring kids 8+ and they have a great time.
Do you offer private tours?
Yes. Private tours are popular for bachelorette parties, birthdays, family reunions, and corporate groups. Group sizes from 6 to 50+. Custom routes available. Reach out for a quote.
What if my flight gets delayed and I miss the tour?
If you let us know as soon as you're aware, we'll do everything we can to either join you mid-tour or move you to a later date. We'd rather make it work than have you miss out.
Should I tip my guide?
Yes, please. Gratuity is not included in the public tour ticket. Our guides work hard to make this an unforgettable experience and tipping is the standard way to thank them. The industry norm for food tours is 15 to 20 percent of the ticket price, and our guides genuinely appreciate every tip.

Have a Group? We Do Private Tours.

Bachelorette parties, birthdays, family reunions, corporate retreats. We host private tours for groups of 6 to 50+ on custom routes that fit your group's vibe and dietary needs. Most planners book us 4-8 weeks ahead.
